Thank you for this project!
I'd like to have a console application without DirectX/OpenGL requirements. Unfortunately, virtual instances in the clouds doesn't have real video card. I can use my own computer with video card to create plan, and then order virtual instance in clouds for rendering foto/video as fast as I need.
Ideally, it should be flexible: process one file on many instances simultaneously and use load balancer to reduce time... [:)]

The rendering at the two best quality don't need any graphic card to run.
But the program itself requires DirectX/OpenGL support to run if unchanged.
I could try to create a special version that will be able to run in batch mode without DirectX/OpenGL support. It will simply compute a picture from the last saved parameters in a SH3D file, with some feedback in the console.
If you're interested by this, please fill a feature request.
