Switch off 3D / deactivate 3D

Hey,
I did several searches here to find an answer but I did not succeed.

As a beginner I am starting to draw the floor plan room by room by entering all the measurements.

In the background the software is busy to always create the 3D view automatically in the bottom pane. I like the feature but do not need it yet. As it uses my processor to a good extent I prefer to deactivate the 3D creation as it slows down my system.

I wonder that I did not find anything re/ this. Does this feature exist? If so, please give me a pointer.

As far as I know, you can't switch off the live 3D preview.

You could try Sweet Home 2D (read the FAQ How can I disable 3D features in Sweet Home 3D?) but you won’t have top view icons in the plan.
You could also hide the 3D view by moving the separator between the plan and the 3D view. Then you’ll have to close your file and reopen it to really stop updates in the 3D view. Updates will be computed again only once you’ll make the 3D view appear at screen.
