Auto Dimensions

Is there a way to draw rooms and/or walls and have them display the dimensions automatically?

I have installed the Auto Dimensioning Tool but it is all or nothing. There is no way to customize it, and it gives inner and outer measurements and clutters up the drawing. Besides, the user may only want to have certain sections display the dimensions.

Therefore the need to draw and display at the same time.

I fear no solution will never be perfect enough, the reason why I chose not to lose some time with this feature.
