Is there away to change 2D background color?

I was wondering if there was a way to change the background color in the 2d window Od rather use a darker color

Only by program, by calling setBackground method on the plan component.

You may import a background image of the color you like. When importing specify a size larger than your home so that it covers the whole plan even if you zoom out.
You have to import the background on each level.
Be aware that a too dark background will reduce the contrast with lines.

Sounds good but how do I call setbackground on plan component? I haven’t messed with a lot of coding in sweethome3d but that would be great so I can set plans for all my foundations plans and layout plans,

If you're able to run Sweet Home 3D from code source, simply change implementation of [font=courier new]getBackgroundColor[/font] and [font=courier new]getForegroundColor[/font] in PlanComponent class. Otherwise, this might be difficult.
