I was searching for escalator dimensions when I found this free site that is very useful when you are creating your own furniture: dimensions.com
It offers different categories with all kinds of dimensions from characters, doors, windows, cooking utensils to knobs, handles, and pavement. It also has the dimensions for escalators I was looking for.
Without a subscription you can review all the dimensions you need for the specific object you are about to create. The displayed images in both feet/inches and meter/cm are very helpfull to keep your objects within real life sizes.

Don't get exited about the offered OBJ download, it doesn't work in SH3D and is not an actual 3D model.

This is a very interesting site for those who create their own furniture or objects. The real dimensions allow to simplify enormously the task. A bit like using a layer to recreate a drawing! Thanks for this link...
