How do I place an item on top of another item

I searched forums but cannot find the answer to following question:

if I place a box on a desk, how do I place a monitor on top of the box?

Change its elevation afterwards with its elevation indicator placed at one of its corners or with its modification dialog box. If the box is larger than the monitor you can also choose Furniture > Rest élévation menu item after selecting the monitor.
