Wall Drawing Preferences

Hi, I've seen some discussion on various ways of drawing a room, but I wonder if a fairly simple solution might work best. If we were able to select whether the length of a wall was measured from inside edge of the adjoining wall, then drawing a room to given dimensions would be much simpler.

Also, would it be possible to press a secondary key and lock the vertical or horizontal plane whilst moving a wall. i.e. Inside dimension of a room is 60cm out and I want to move the wall. At present, this doesn't seem possible in a precise way.
