extraneous triangle

Post by mga56grg »

when viewing in the 3D panel (aerial visit), some of my floor create extra opaque triangles (default grey), which extend from the floor to the ceiling of a nearby wall. if i rotate the view, the extra panels may or may not disappear temporarily (depending upon the view. i have found this to go away if i unclick the 'display ceiling' box, but obviously there is something else incorrect or unaligned with my models. any idea?

Marshall,

The triangles are (most probably) caused by the ceiling(s) of (a) room(s) with walls of unequal height.
Solution 1: Give all walls of a room the same height.
Solution 2: Make the ceilings invisible.

thanks for this Hans. Making them invisible does the trick. FYI the room i was modeling is actually a patio off the back of the house, and attached to the main house. so there is a room of 1 inch height which allows me to draw a floor of brick texture. maybe i should not not use the house wall for a segment of my patio.
