Displaying the floor area.

Hi.

I am relativly new to this great program and have one question.

When I make a new room, the area of the floor is always shown (default) in the ready room.
I knew I can take it away by editing the room, but it is somewhere I can change it to
not show the area (de activate) when the room is ready?
I have looked in preferences but cant find anything there.
