Cannot select walls or furniture after creating rooms

I have had a great time using SweetHome 3D to create a model of my new house and am excited about knowing where all my furniture will go when I move, but I've run into an issue after creating rooms.

I essentially built the entire floor plan - walls, windows, doors, and furniture - for both 1st and second floor, then went back and created the rooms/floors/ceilings. After creating the rooms, I can no longer select any of the previously-created walls, doors, windows, or furniture on the FIRST floor. No problem on the second floor. I have locked and unlocked the base plan and it makes no difference. I can add furniture to the first floor and am able to select that with no problem. When I pull up the "select object" option the furniture/walls/windows/doors aren't even on the list to select.
