Transparent Display Box - Newbie

Hello. I am VERY new to this program, and I love it! I am trying to figure out how to make display boxes, like you see in gift shops. Transparent 6-sided boxes with a cloudy or off-color seam along the edges, where the sides are fused together.

I don't know much about how to import specific things. I figured out how to download and install furniture items from the ZIP files I found on the site, but haven't found anything that matches what I need. I want to be able to model an item, and place it inside the clear box.

The box needs to be adjustable L x W x H, as there will be multiple sizes for the items being displayed in the box, and the box may contain 1 or more items.

Has anyone done this, or have some pointers? (Again, I am totally new at using this program.)
