How to modify the floor plan easily?

Hello guys,

i'm trying to plan a house with SweetHome3D. As i'm in the concept phase i need to try lots of different room arrangements with different room sizes.

Is there a way to do this in an efficient way?

What i'm currently missing most:
-instant displaying of wall dimensions
-automatic updating of room square meters

In my opinion the editing of an floor plan should work like implemented in this ArchiTouch3D software for the ipad:

This wouldn't be the problem, but i don't have an ipad

Furthermore editing on a desktop pc is much more convenient. So does anyone know if those features somehow can be integrated into Sweet Home 3D ?

I agree that the pad interface looks good in the video.

Yet, don't forget SH3D's multiple select (Shift/Ctrl), duplicate/constrain (Shift/Ctrl after mouse press), double-click for wall, room and dimension drawing - and of course, all the other keyboard short-cuts and combinations.
