Different elevations

Hi everyone my very first post. I have just started using sweet home 3D and as potentially one of your older users I am tremendously impressed with what has been achieved. Congratulations to all of you it is marvellous. I have started to use .obj to create my own library parts in sweet home 3D....eg roof trusses. What I would like to be able to create are more formal looking plans of my new home designs with different elevations I.e side elevation, front elevation etc. This is probably a big ask as programmes such as autocad are normally used by pro architects to obtain these results. Are there any features or work arounds that I have missed to help me.

Elevations as such is not a problem (add level for different 2D/3D views). However, if you want a lateral view, yes, you need a workaround. Maybe thread 6476 - specifically the links - can be of help. It depends what you want, but with a bit of work, you can get pretty good results. If not exactly to architectural perfection. ok

I have just bought a property in caunay and fully intend to submit all of the planning requirements myself. I will continue to utilise sh3d for the entire process and will use all of the work arounds suggested. I will also keep people posted on what I am able to produce for the planning application. I have spent only 40-50 hours with the programme however, I believe I can produce all of the drawings required for the planning application.

As a general rule it is easier to solve a problem with SH3D than with planning authorities. Best of luck.
