Parellelize videorendering?

Post by jon5 »

If I get it right the current videorendering is singlethreaded, correct?
Have you considered to parallelize the videorendering to cut down the rending time? I have not checked the code but maybe streams as mentioned on https://stackoverflow.com/questions/275 ... l-for-loop can be of help.

I tried again and found that the two best settings keeps all of my cpu buzy so my question is only valid for the two fastest settings.

My understanding was that each 'bucket' in the rendering process was initiated as its own thread, with as many buckets running simultaneously as the PC has cores...
