Help to get almost no shadows

I was just wondering if there is any way of remove or get softer shadows when you make a 3d plan picture like this: http://i.imgur.com/DGiNmxL.jpg

I would like to make it like the picture above

Try some 100x100x100 cm lights at a low strength.
Experimentation is the name of the game.

Alternative: set the compass to a location near the equator, and choose a time around noon. Sun should be shining from above without shadows.
