It would be necessary that the saving of a point of view also memorizes the position of the compass.

Shame you don't like the idea, would be handy for multiple renders, rotate the compass for each render to mimic the time changes.

A point of view already stores the time and date set in photo creation dialog box. This can let you test time changes during the year.

Maybe off topic, but I wish the compass was selectable in the 3D view when the plan is locked.
