How to: Creating Objects with Light materials
Sorry if this is a repeat, but I couldn't find this information, and I thought it might be helpful to someone if I shared.
This is what I do if I have a 3D object, example a lamp, that I want to have a light when you import it into SweetHome3D.
1. You need to know what the material is called of the object that is your light - I always use lightBulb. 2. Open the object in SweetHome Furniture Library Editor 3. Open preferences, and under furniture properties scroll down and make sure "lightSourceMaterialName" is marked as Modifiable. 4. Import your furniture object, open it to Modify, and you will see "lightSourceMaterialName" under Additional properties. 5. Put the name of the material in there and save the library. 6. Import the library into SweetHome3D like an ordinary library, and you should have the option to edit the light properties.

Re: How to: Creating Objects with Light materials
I thought I had a manual about creating a light in Sweet Home 3D on the dodecagon.nl site. Well, I do have the manual, I just forgot to publish it to the site That has been fixed so there is now a manual that explains the creation of lights with Sweet Home 3D.
