When ever i try to zoom in on the room it zooms to the centre point. i really hope there is a way of fixing this because the programs great otherwise confused

Emmalee,

No, you can't. Yes, you can.

Although there's no way to change the 3D centerpoint, there are two workarounds.
1 - Put an object (far) off-center, so that the center shifts in the direction you desire.
2 - Using the Virtual visitor you can set a (very) high viewpoint to get exactly the viewpoint you want. You can store several points of view, so you can easily switch from one point of view to another.

Or you can try the Pan 3D view plugin.

Both methods are fine, as suggested. Which one to use depends on the situation you are currently working in. You quickly get used to the changes and the use becomes automatic after a while.

Dear Mario,

What you are doing is called Necroposting, or Thread Necromancy: Posting to long-dead threads. You are also doing it on many threads which is basically spamming. Both of these are annoying, and usually frowned upon. Please don't do that.

I suspect "Mario" is either an account from Space Mushrooms that uses AI to generate answers OR it's a user that tries to do the same. When you read the answers it's clear that most miss a basic understanding of the question and thus generates flawed answers. Answers are either incorrect, incomplete, obsolete, or multiple of those. Unfortunately it also pollutes the forum with a bunch of nonsense.

Re: can i change centre point in 3d view

I'm sorry you think that. I just want to help people make things as easy as possible. I'm one of the people who are responsible for Sweet Home 3D being what it is today. I started working with Emmanuel 15 years ago, so I have enough experience to maybe help someone. I've been looking through the posts on the forum and have seen all kinds of problems that users have, as well as all kinds of answers to questions that always complicate things. Mostly based on Sweet Home 3D, I created Optical Shop 3D and all my requirements for what the program should have in order to be a decent program to use. All the upgrades that I requested are now available to everyone in Sweet Home 3D. Sweet Home 3D is not perfect software, but it now has everything you need to do a project related to architecture and space design. From object manipulation, lighting, measurements, basic rendering, top plans and wall plans with measurements, prices per object, and a total cost estimate. I took a little while to write, mostly I'm sorry that you misinterpreted my responses to people and my intention to help them.
