Furniture Library Editor 1.0 beta

I have had FurnitureLibraryEditor-1.0.beta.jar and it had worked nicely until today. I tried to start it as usual but it won't start.
I'm using SuSE 11.4 64 bit with 32 bit java BTW. When I just click on the icon like I used to do, it says it can't find the java executable. If I tell it to "open with" and then choose the javaws, these are the error messages I get:

I'm pretty sure it did work with the 64 bit java because I used it when I first installed my new system. I replaced the 64 bit version of java with the 32 bit version so that I could have java support for my browser (which is SeaMonkey) but when the 64 bit version is installed, the 32 bit version is removed by the system and then java won't work for my browser anymore (which is a 32 bit browser -- they don't have a 64 bit version).

I don't know what to do.
Is there (or will there be) an update for the Furniture Library Editor?

Pencilart, don't use javaws instead of java. It won't work.
You could also update to the latest version 1.4 of the Furniture Library Editor.

I found out what I did.
I'm trying to get my 32 bit browser (SeaMonkey) have java support on my 64 bit system. I had installed the 32 bit version of java for that. Then, some of my java dependent apps were "complaining" about not having java.
I went back to the 64 bit java and now the furniture library opens fine again.

I will use the new one now though. Thanks for that!

Can a person have BOTH versions of java installed? For my SuSE 11.4 64 bit system, the software manager only seems to allow ONE version.
Does the installer from sun's site install it to a different folder?

Sure, there must be a symlink somewhere that tells the browser which java it should run.

I have both because I need them to create installers and test whether Sweet Home 3D works or not. I run them through virtual machines.

On my machine I have Ubuntu 11.04 installed as only operating system. I have IcedTea Java installed, which works perfectly.

Attached is a file that shows where all Java files can be found.

I do have java 64 bit installed. It works fine but there are a few apps that need 32 bit java. The 32 bit apps won't work without that. For some reason, they can't use the default 64 bit java. So, I'd have to have BOTH the 32 bit and the 64 bit javas installed.

These are the java's I have installed (I was advised to use only Sun's version):

/usr/share/java

The executable is in this one: /usr/bin/java

What I was wondering about is if the 32 bit java version would get installed to a different directory so that it wouldn't interfere with the default 64 bit version.

Can I install the 32 bit java into a directory of my choice (for instance by creating a java folder in /home)?
I'm hoping that I understood the directions from this page:

As for me, I wrote in my message that I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit.
I don't know what kind of Java I have installed, 32 or 64 bit: it's just the IcedTea Java that comes from the repositories. Maybe the screen shot I included in my last message tells you more?

For the rest I'm afraid I can't help you. I'm definitely not a technical person. Whenever I have a problem I have to search the forums myself, or (more often) learn to live with it.

Sorry Hans, I didn't see your edit until just now.
Try this to see info about your java versions (I looked it up for Ubuntu)
To list all installed jdk version under Ubuntu / Debian Linux, enter: dpkg --list | grep -i jdk
You've done this one, right? java -version

Have you ever tried the command, "whereis java" (without the quotes) to see where all the java packages were installed? That way you don't have to make a screenshot of your directory. I don't know if you've learned this already, but the command, "which java" (without the quotes) tells you where the executable command is for that app.

So, for your system, how does rendering a scene in SH3D act for you? When I had the IcedTea version of Java on my system the rendering (take photo) tool, it's kinda hard to describe but, when it was done rendering, and I closed it, I was left with a blank (gray) square on the screen that wouldn't go away until I closed SH3D and re-opened it again. Using the Sun java version, this does not happen.

No, I didn't know the tricks you mentioned. I'm good with software/applications, but I'm hopeless with OS'es. I like to compare computers with cars: I know how to drive one pretty well, but I'm not a mechanic. And very important: the mechanics of cars and computers don't interest me in the least.

Under Ubuntu 10.10/32-bits, I think I had Sun Java installed. Now, under 11.04/64 I use IcedTea and it works without any problem. Rendering is OK in any quality.
