Installation of plugin

Hello, I installed in Ubuntu Sweet home 3d Version 6.6a through Software catalog.

Then, under home folder, I created:

a folder called .eteks
a subfolder called sweethome3d
a subfolder called plugins

I donwloaded this plugin https://sourceforge.net/p/sweethome3d/plug-ins/39/ and copied the the.sh3p file in plugin folder.

I started sweet home 3D but it seems that nothing has changed and plugin is not activated. In fact I cannot find Tool menu in the upper bar. Can you please help me out? Thanks.

The folder .eteks (a hidden folder) should have been created during the installation process. You probably created a new folder in a different location.

Last resort is uninstall and re-install it using the guide you suggested. Before doing that, i was wondering: where should .eteks folder have been created? I checked /tmp and /opt but it seems I find nothing.

Solved. .eteks was created automaticaclly during installation at location: ~/snap/sweethome3d-homedesign/15/.eteks/sweethome3d/
