My small (very small) contribution of 3D objects.

Hello everybody!

I'm sharing a compilation of objects I've made trough time. Most of them are traditional objects useful (I think) for artistic scenarios. Old School objects I never found in databases online, or found it but weren't for free, etc. So I made them by myself.
Most of these objects are/were typical in South America lifestyle and specially in 80s.

The file is a SH3D file that contain the objects. It looks like a yard sale! And most important, EVERYTHING IS FOR FREE!

Notes:
Park lamp was the very first 3D model I achieved, if it looks too simple, it is because I was learning CAD from absolute 0. The most recent model is the revolver. All in the middle are IMO acceptable quality models. Anyway, leave your comment.

I repeat: I made these models because:
-Online DBs didn't have it
-They weren't for free
or
-They were available and for free, but in a format I can't do anything with (in SH3D).

I know it must be not 100% perfect, specially from musicians' view. But newbies in SH3D and 3D modeling in general might fin it useful.

To get the effect of the light, just place an incandescent light, with 8% power, inside the flame, that is 75% transparent.

I want, If admins don't mind, to suggest the software I use to make my models, for two strong reasons:
* It is AMAZING
* I've ever seen nobody mentioning it. Everybody speak about Blender, and it is fine. I don't hesitate, Blender is amazing, too.

But allow me to mention

Freecad


I've been using it from its version 0.7. Please, I don't want to start a sandstorm with this comment, Is just my humble opinion:
Blender is great for artists, those who have artistic skills love blender. But if your mind is not so artistic, but instead it is mathematical, and love making models, you'll love FreeCAD.
And, obviously, must exist those who are both artist and math skilled. My respect to them.

Newbies in modeling: I strongly recommend FreeCAD.

Please don't try to destroy this perception, it is just my view.

I'm proud to introduce this baluster with independent top, useful to place balusters in stairs.





Useful exactly for that shown in the image. If you have a veranda attached to a different level storey, and you want the same baluster in both places.

You only have to use the marvelous multiplier tool to place the headless balusters in the stairs. Then, create a straight line of only the tops of the balusters (invisible bodies), also with the multiplier. Use the "Copy as new furniture" tool and paste the new furniture. This will be the handrail or banister. Rotate it and place it.

I hope you find it useful.

Hello

For single signs, the best idea is to create a frame (with a box) and use the texture sign upon it.

See the digital display of the fictitious audio amplifier here, it is an example of that.

If you want a carved 3D sign, probably you have to design it in Blender or Freecad.

But a texture is enough, IMO.

Right now I'm exploring parametric modeling (based on geometry).

I'm not the guy (right now).

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll find a lot of users that can model a bird in a blink.

You will find very few birds because they are very difficult to create and the objects will be huge in size/face count. But there is an alternative: photo-on-a-box.
Read this thread to see how it is done. This post takes it even further [:)]
Our valued member GaudiGalopin3324 has done amazing things using this method. His posts are well worth reading but be warned: most are very advanced topics. It does show how far you can go with SweetHme3D!
