App doesn't run

My downloaded ( App store) version 4.5.1 is always starting with " JRELoadError"
Mac OS 10.10. 64 bit
Java 8 25
The free version is running...

What in hell to do..

The Mac App Store version comes with its own private copy of Java so installing any version of Java on your computer won't influence its behavior. From a search about JRELoadError, I suspect you actually try to launch the free version, rather the Mac App Store version.
I suggest you to throw away Sweet Home 3D application(s) found on your computer, then download again Mac App Store version.

You can always ask for a refund at any moment. So, even if it's not a funny procedure, you didn't lose 14 € as you think. You have also the option to use the free version which works for you as your reported and offers the same features (see this thread for more information about the history of the Mac App Store version) .

I would have been happy to help you but I have no way to reproduce your issue. It worked for me on two computers running under Mac OS X 10.10. Maybe it will work better with the last update 10.10.1 released a few days ago, or with a clean install of the system, but I won't push you to test this if you're too upset.

I'm having the same problem, but on Mac OS 10.8.5. I was running the free version (4.2), but decided to buy a copy. I deleted the free version from my Applications folder and installed Sweet Home 3D from the App Store, but I now get the same problem as the OP.

I then deleted the new version, went back to the App Store, and reinstalled the app, but got the same result.

Has anything new come to light about this?

I have used AppStore to pay for and load the App onto my iMac and it is running fine. But - on my MacBook Pro also running the same El Capitan OSX it throws the JRELoadError in a smal window.

Is there any solution?

I just tried Sweet Home 3D again under El Capitan on a MacBook Pro 2011 and didn't notice any issue. Under which version of El Capitan did you try? Is it a clean install or an upgrade from a previous Mac OS X version?

Couldn't resist... run's on my old mac pro at 10.9.5 without problems... really like the app .. easy to use planed my new house in 2h... but can`t run it on my 10.11.5. mac book air... so I loaded the free version ... needs older Java... loaded it and it runs...
Why does the full version still not work?

finally fixed:
I only copy pasted it from my 10.9.5. to my 10.11.3. surprise it runs.
Tried update from App store !!! failed again... but same procedure worked...
copying updated version from 10.9.5. runs again
any Idea whats going on?
