Walls - Split faces horizontally

I have been building rooms with walls having colour bands; bottom third one colour, a decorative band separating it from the top two thirds in another colour, and then another colour representing the cornice.

This requires fiddling multiple copies of the same walls on different level elevations, wall heights, etc. OR making image textures and constantly editing them to change colours.

It would be nicer if it was possible to split wall faces into horizontal bands with individual colours.
