SH dont start in Ubuntu 12.04

Sweet Home 3D 4.1.1

Install SH with instructions from Desktop Linux Tips, Click SH on Dash Home but dint start
I know SH don’t work properly with Java Ice Tea check for Sun Java the installed is libservlet2.5-java.
Need help to start SH please

From my own tests with an Ubuntu virtual machine under Parallels Desktop, the (old) version in the Ubuntu Software Directory, the two downloadable versions and the online version work now under an updated Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, included the Java Web Start and online (applet) versions when run with Java IcedTea.
As most of the time, it must be a graphics card driver issue.

Where did you get the version 4.1.1? Did you build it yourself?

I prefer SH in Ubuntu than in virtual machine.
I had SH early version before the problem was I couldn’t import objects and I gave up, as there is a new version 4.1 want to try it.
The SH version 4.1.1 was typing error
How to get SH 4.1 working properly with opening the files from any folder, this was my problem before.

Download SH3D here. (big green button)
Unzip the file in any directory you like.
Double-click the file SweetHome3D (880 bytes) to start the program.

That's all.

Thank you to come to the problem.
We communicate before about this problem and I gave up for a while but now I need SH working properly.
Download from SH web site “Download Linux 32 bits installer” run SH 3d and check if it worked properly.
The problem: Click Import Furniture Choose Model the Folders screen comes up, Click on any Folder
the correspondent files dont show with this I cant import and save to the proper folder.
This as been the problem all along. I see on the web SH working properly with similar machines include you. I cant understand why this does not work as should be, I might be doing some thing wrong? but opening files on folders is a strait forward operation.
The java now is “ oracle-java7-installer” latest version - “7u40~webupd8-0” is his the correct one
Sweet Home 3D 4.1?.
With all this help me to get SH working PLEASE.

Luis,

On this page you will find hundreds of models for SH3D.
Click on the link beneath the image, and save the file.
Normally the file will be saved to the Downloads directory, unless you have specified another location.
Open SH3D, click Furniture -> Import furniture -> Choose model.
Now go to your Downloads directory and search for the model you saved. If there are many files in that directory, use *.zip or *.obj to find SH3D models.
Click on the model and follow the steps to import it.
