Unable to Instal/Start v. 4.6

Hi,

I'm having trouble in using v. 4.6 with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I've downloaded the 32 bit installer for my laptop, the 64 bit installer for my desktop, and even tried the portable version, that I use with 'PortableApps' under Windows.

None of them starts in any way, neither with OpenJDK6 or OpenJDK7. Not even using sudo commands. Latest SW3D working version is 4.4 [:(]

Funny enough, the portable version and 64 bit installer for Windows are working perfectly on my desktop (Win Vista). [:-/]

What should I do?

You don't need to install OpenJDK to run the portable version and the installer versions provided at download page, because they come with their own copy of Oracle Java.
I don't see any change in the program between versions 4.4 and 4.6 that could make it fail on your computer. Did you try the version 4.4 available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/sweeth ... ome3D-4.4/ ?

No problem with Windows version or Portable version. End of story! [:)]

Problem is with Ubuntu/Linux version.

I made some screencasts hoping they clarify my problem, which is, even if I run the installer, I still have version 4.4.

Please read this thread. I'll try to make it easier for next version.

Viewing SW3D4.6_Console_install.mp4 you submitted, I don't understand how the About dialog box of a running version 4.6 could display version 4.4. Are you sure you didn't move some files during your attempts?
